Distrikt
A social network with no ads, running on-chain.
Distrikt is a Web3 social network on the Internet Computer blockchain: users own their data, and there are no ads and no data monetization.
It is a social network that flips the usual deal: your data is yours, it is never used for monetization, and there are no ads on the platform at all.
We built the mobile apps in Flutter: the first iOS and Android applications running on the Internet Computer Protocol, including the world's first Internet Identity login on a mobile device. Because decentralized apps tend to feel slow, we leaned hard on caching algorithms to make a blockchain-backed feed feel like a normal, fast social app.
The real challenge was balancing decentralization with everyday usability for people who have never touched blockchain, and doing it well enough to ship on the App Store and Google Play. It drew directly on the blockchain work we have been doing since 2017.
